There's a problem with the way we’re solving problems

We all know the feeling of solving a problem the wrong way. Maybe we’ve forced a square peg into a round hole, or maybe we’ve just used brute force when a smarter approach was needed. We oftentimes find ourselves trying to solve the wrong problems, or solving them in the wrong ways. As a result, we end up wasting time, money and resources without making any real progress.

We’re living in a world of constant change and innovation. As technology evolves, so do the products we create. Product design is one of the fastest growing job sectors in the tech industry, and many designers are eager to get onboard with this trend. However, there’s a problem with the way we are solving problems as designers. Many times, our solutions focus only on surface-level issues rather than tackling deeper underlying problems. Most designers fail to go beyond simply addressing surface-level problems but jump into creating a solution. They fail to truly understand user needs to create effective solutions
